Laboure-Roi Old

This family winery established in 1832 is the third largest house of Burgundy with a turnover of 70 000 000 US $.

Transmitted to Louis and Armand Cottin in 1974, 80 % of their bottles are exported to more than 30 countries worldwide.

Labouré Roi become an international brand with their success with the airlines and the cruises. 10% of their production is selected during blind tasting process for the in-flight services and for the pleasure of the first and executive passengers.

Located in Nuits-Saint-Geores, the Labouré-Roi winemaking facility is one of the more technically advanced wineries in Burgundy. With a cellaring capacity of 1300 barrels, the winery supplements the house's impressive historic cellars. Dating back to 16th century cellars, the ancient cellars are still used today for the storage of 1100 barrels.

Labouré Roi offers today an impressive portfolio of appellations from regional appellations to Grand crus. They are working along with 100 different domains dispatched from Chablis to the Beaujolais district.

Burgundy is the cradle of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With this Heritage, Labouré Roi has been developing some micro vinifications. Their wine making team is devoted to the quality and have installed a full monitoring system with the domain where they buy the grapes from.

Cottin

Starting in 2008, Labouré Roi is going GREEN. Their action for the environment follows the "One billion trees" program launched by Wangari Manthai, who won the Nobel Prize and founded the Greenbelt Movement, and with the help of the United Nations program for the environment. Their action shares the Kyoto objectives of reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

"A bottle purchased, a tree planted". Our goal is to co-financed the plantation of 100 000 trees per year ! This program was first launch in the US with the Beaujolais Nouveau.
